Orthodontics and DFL®
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that is one of the
of the pillars of Dental Face Lifting® (DFL®).
- Orthodontics in Dental Face Lift® leads to a decisive, favourable change in profile and thus to an overall improvement in the patient's facial appearance.
- In adults, orthodontic correction is not always and only about treating malocclusion, but also about a different, more aesthetically pleasing alignment of the teeth, which will:
- more visible from under the upper lip,
- fill the black corridors in a smile,
- form a correct smile line following the curve of the lower lip (the so-called correct smile line).
- Many times, as a result of extrusion and intrusion procedures, we are able to raise the height of the lower facial trunk, resulting in the relaxation of the muscles surrounding the temporomandibular joints and the correct positioning of the heads in the temporomandibular joint acetabulum, thus treating persistent migraine headaches. The removal of the aforementioned complaints results in a change from a 'tired' facial expression to a more radiant and rested one.
Dental Face Lifting® is based on the latest treatment technologies from all fields of dentistry (Dental Face Lifting®), which complement each other in the treatment process we have designed, resulting in an improved (including rejuvenated) facial image.
- Modern tooth straightening options allow facial features to be improved without the need for tooth extraction.
- Compared to other extreme methods of improving the aesthetics of the dentition (which only correct the teeth themselves, without affecting other components of the facial profile, e.g. cheeks, lower face area, height of the lower face), DFL® achieves more. Integrated orthodontic-implantological techniques and aesthetic dentistry and medicine lead to better support of the lips and cheek skin, thus achieving a more youthful appearance.
Treatment with orthodontic techniques at the UNIDENT UNION clinic takes several to several months in many cases. During this time, the teeth are displaced in the desired directions, the dental arches expand, building a smile and a new facial profile. After this period, the teeth usually undergo a whitening process, individual teeth or groups of teeth are covered with ceramic veneers (Porcelain veneers). After or during orthodontic treatment, it may be necessary to replace missing teeth with implants (Implantology), sometimes augmentation procedures are also necessary, resulting in more bone volume and therefore better lip and cheek support (Implants for bone atrophy).
