Preimplantation orthodontics
When you do not close the gap in time, the adjacent teeth will slowly lean towards the missing teeth, losing their correct height in the bite. There will be a gap between the distal teeth, upward and downward vertical protrusions caused by missing antagonist teeth and other abnormalities in the position of the teeth and, most importantly, abnormalities in the height of the occlusion. This is how an acquired malocclusion will develop, which will need to be treated before the lost teeth can be restored with implants and implant-supported crowns.
How will you know if a gap in your smile has caused a reduction in the height of your stenosis and orthodontic treatment is advisable before restoring the tooth with an implant?
In addition to visible changes in the position of neighbouring teeth and antagonists (opposing teeth in the bite), the patient may complain of:
- grated, chipped or cracked front teeth,
- dental hypersensitivity,
- whole tooth pain,
- pain in the temporomandibular joints,
- headaches, neck pain, back pain.
At the UNIDENT UNION clinic, with the help of orthodontics, we lift lowered shortness of breath, which has a destructive effect on the anterior teeth and causes non-anatomical overloads in the bite and in the temporomandibular joints.
At the same time, we plan implantation and the restoration of the correct height of worn-out teeth using bonding and other prosthetic techniques (veneers, crowns).
A comprehensive treatment plan that takes into account all dental disciplines gives patients a unique medical service: the anatomically, functionally and aesthetically best smile restoration. In the case of pre-implant orthodontics, it is part of a combined therapy with a implantology, implantoprosthetics and prosthetics i bonding.
