Placing a porcelain bridge - step by step at Unident Union® in Wrocław

Are you missing one or more teeth and looking for a permanent, aesthetic solution?
The all-ceramic porcelain bridge is a proven method for the restoration of missing teeth. teeth, without dentures and without compromise.
At the clinic Unident Union® in Wrocław, the process is as comfortable, predictable and digitally based as possible.

See the step-by-step process for fitting a porcelain bridge.

Step 1: Prosthetic consultation and digital diagnosis

During the first visit:

  • we analyse the occlusal and aesthetic conditions,
  • We take X-rays, 3D scans and photographic documentation,
  • we assess the condition of the pillar teeth (if a classic bridge is planned),
  • we discuss the possible options: a bridge on own teeth, on implants or an adhesive bridge,
  • Together with the patient we determine the material (E.maxzirconia, feldspar porcelain).

Step 2: Wax-up i mock-up - the new smile project

Based on the scans and documentation, a:

  • wax-up - A wax model of your new smile, prepared in the laboratory,
  • mock-up - Temporary fitting of the new smile in the patient's mouth.

Thanks to them:

  • The patient can see what the effect will be final,
  • the practitioner can assess aesthetics and function before starting the preparation,
  • adjustments can be made before the bridge is constructed.

Step 3: Tooth preparation or implant plan

Depending on the type of bridge selected:
a) Classic bridge (on own teeth)

  • Grinding of pillar teeth for crowns,
  • The preparation is carried out gently - under local anaesthetic,
  • We preserve the maximum amount of tissue - with care for the health of the gums and tooth structures.

b) Implant-supported bridge

  • If implants are already in place - prosthetic abutments are prepared,
  • If not - we set up an implant treatment plan (separate stage).

c) Adhesion bridge (Maryland)

  • Preparation of the teeth is not necessary - the enamel surface is only gently worked on.
  • It is an almost completely non-invasive solution.

Step 4: Digital scan and bridge design

Instead of classic impressions, we take a digital scan of the mouth, which:

  • is more accurate and comfortable for the patient,
  • goes to a prosthetics laboratory (in Poland or abroad - e.g. Dubai, Brazil),
  • enables the design and construction of the bridge to begin quickly.

During this time, the patient can use a temporary bridge (if required).

Step 5: fitting of the porcelain bridge

Once the bridge is completed:

  • we check the colour, shape and fit to the gum line,
  • control the occlusion and contacts of the opposing teeth,
  • The patient assesses the aesthetic effect - this is the moment for final adjustments.

The bridge is made to the highest standards - using feldspathic porcelain, E.max or zirconium.

Step 6: Cementing the bridge and finalisation

If everything checks out - we proceed with the permanent cementation of the bridge.
The process takes place:

  • in isolation using a cofferdam (if necessary),
  • with the use of adhesive cement,
  • under full control of tightness, aesthetics and occlusion.

The patient leaves the practice with a new, stable smile - ready for everyday life.

How long does it take to fit a porcelain bridge?

  • Classic or adhesive bridge: 7-14 working days,
  • Bridge on implants: 14-21 working days (after completion of implant stage),
  • Number of visits: usually 2 to 3, depending on the case.

It all depends on the material chosen, the complexity of the work and the location of the laboratory (local or foreign).

Does fitting a porcelain bridge hurt?

No.
The preparation is carried out under local anaesthesia and most patients do not feel any pain.
In addition, the patient functions at all times in temporary bridges - without aesthetic discomfort.

Placing an all-ceramic porcelain bridge is a fully planned and comfortable process.
