Inlay, all-ceramic onlay

Inlays, onlays and veneer-onlays - precision tooth restoration at Unident Union® in Wrocław

Modern cosmetic dentistry makes it possible to restore teeth that are not only durable and functional, but also as biologically efficient as possible. At the Unident Union® clinic in Wrocław, we perform inlays, onlays and all-ceramic veneers on a daily basis - restorations that combine precision, durability and natural aesthetics. They are an alternative to classic fillings and crowns - used where we want to preserve as much healthy tooth tissue as possible.

What are inlays, onlays and veneer-onlays?

Inlay

  • Reconstructs the inner part of the tooth - mainly the fissures and chewing surfaces,
  • Used for medium-sized cavities without nodule reconstruction,
  • Precision-fitted insert made in the laboratory from ceramic.

Onlay (overlay)

  • Reconstructs most of the tooth - including one or more cusps,
  • Indicated for extensive cavities in lateral teeth,
  • An alternative to a crown - more economical on tooth tissue,
  • Adhesively fixed - no need to grind the entire tooth.

Veneer-onlay (aesthetic overlay)

  • Combination of onlay and veneer - restores the entire chewing and facing (visible) surface,
  • Mainly used in aesthetic restorations of premolar and molar teeth,
  • It combines the durability of an onlay with the aesthetic effect of a veneer,
  • At Unident Union®, it is a solution used, among other things, in full smile makeovers with a facelift.

What do we make onlays and inlays out of?

At Unident Union®, we only use premium all-ceramic materials such as:

  • E.max (lithium-silicate ceramic) - embossed, abrasion-resistant, durable and aesthetically pleasing,
  • Feldspar porcelain - hand layered, very natural, used in the aesthetic zone,
  • Zirconia (in special cases) - for highly stressed posterior teeth.

Each restoration is created on the basis of digital scans, in laboratories in Poland or, at the patient's request, in Dubai or Brazil.

When we use inlays, onlays and veneer-onlays

  • Carious cavities or after root canal treatment,
  • Cracked teeth or restoration after trauma,
  • Replacement of large leaking infills,
  • Correction of aesthetics and function without grinding the entire tooth,
  • Raising the height of the short circuit,
  • Part of a planned smile makeover using wax-ups and mock-ups.

Course of treatment - what does the onlay or inlay look like?

1. consultation and planning - digital diagnosis, bite analysis, material selection,

2. Wax-up and mock-up (if aesthetic or short-circuit restoration),

3. cavity preparation - economical, precise, without unnecessary tooth grinding,

4 Digital scan of the tooth - sent to the laboratory,

5. fitting a temporary restoration (if necessary),

6. fitting and adhesive cementation of the finished inlay/onlay,

7. Bite control and polishing.

Advantages of all-ceramic inlays, onlays and veneer-onlays

  • Tissue saving - minimal tooth preparation,
  • Perfect fit - made individually in the laboratory,
  • Durability - durability comparable to natural teeth,
  • Marginal tightness - reducing the risk of secondary caries,
  • Biocompatible - no risk of sensitisation,
  • Aesthetics - the restoration blends in with the colour of the natural teeth.

Veneer-onlay as part of complex restorations

At Unident Union, we use veneer-onlays as elements:

  • full short-circuit rehabilitation,
  • protocols with an increase in occlusion height,
  • Aesthetic metamorphoses of the lateral teeth,
  • restorations in combination with veneers or crowns in an arch.

It is the ideal solution when a tooth requires restoration of function and correction of the visible surface - but there is no indication for a crown. If you are looking for a precise, durable and modern way to restore a tooth - an all-ceramic inlay, onlay or veneer-onlay is the ideal solution.

At Unident Union®, treatment is planned digitally, restorations are created in the best laboratories (also in Dubai and Brazil) and the whole process is minimally invasive and predictable. Make an appointment for consultation - Together, we will choose a tailor-made solution for your smile.
