Implantoprosthetics

What is implantoprosthetics?

Implantoprosthetics is a branch of dentistry that combines the surgical placement of implants with their prosthetic reconstruction - i.e. the replacement of lost teeth in a permanent, aesthetic and functional.

At the clinic Unident Union® in Wrocław, each prosthetic restoration on implants is designed digitally, in full ceramic and with the greatest aesthetic precision.

Whether it is a single tooth, a larger missing tooth or complete toothlessness - implant-supported prosthetics give our patients the most natural and long-term stable result.

In the following sections, we will discuss exactly what types of prosthetic work we perform on implants, how they are fixed, and which systems we recommend for complete edentulousness.

Do you have an implant and what next?

The fully integrated implant perfectly recreates the root function of the lost tooth and allows:

  • Reconstruction of one toothwithout having to file down healthy and good teeth in the neighbourhood.
Implants more closely resemble natural teeth in appearance, feel and function than bridges and dentures. Unlike when replacing a single missing tooth with a standard three-point bridge, there is no need to grind adjacent healthy teeth to support the bridge.
  • Reconstruction of several teeth- independent implantation does not affect the remaining teeth.
Unlike partial dentures, which can be uncomfortable and where unsightly metal hooks are visible when worn, implants feel, look and function just like natural teeth. Titanium implants are so strong and bond so strongly to the bone that there does not necessarily have to be one implant for every missing tooth. In fact, only the dentist will decide what number of implants is advisable for an individual case.
  • Reconstruction in the case of edentulous teeth.
Implants provide the best stabilisation for dentures, which are connected to the implants by means of retaining clasps or beams. For the patient, this means the feeling of regaining their own teeth and a completely new quality of life.

On the bone-integrated implant or implants, the doctor, in collaboration with a prosthetic technician, performs the restoration of the missing tooth or teeth.

This is a very important stage of treatment, as a poorly planned and executed prosthetic restoration can negate all previous treatment.

The implant reproduces the function of the tooth root. It is connected to the implant abutment, which in turn forms the basis of the dental crown restoration. Only these three elements fully compensate for the lost tooth.
