The treatment protocol in its first phase temporarily reconstructs worn-down, crumbled teeth with composite for the duration of the orthodontic treatment, while the second phase begins the actual orthodontic therapy. Both of these treatment phases are performed during a single visit. It does not involve the extraction of permanent teeth and covers the treatment of many cases of operational – non-operational.

It is not just a matter of aesthetics. Acquired malocclusion and occlusal disease affect the health of the entire body and cause Patients to complain of a variety of pain: from migraines to tinnitus, clicking in the joints and muscle tension. Malocclusion in adults is often a consequence of missing teeth. They then cause a lowering of the occlusal height. Malocclusion also occurs when patients grind their teeth as they get older. However, non-extraction orthodontics, practised by the Unident Union team, improves, in parallel, the quality of life of adult patients suffering from acquired malocclusions of which they are often unaware. We are definitely not proponents of extraction orthodontics and in more than 99.9% cases we do not remove healthy teeth to cure the bite. In orthodontic therapies at Unident Union, it is solely the patient's profile that determines the use of extraction and not the degree of crowding of the teeth. In the vast majority of orthodontic patients, the opposite is the case. Adults even need to accentuate the profile and expansion of the dental arches, so tooth extraction is not advisable in these situations. Orthodontics, for which the orthodontic team of Dr Iwona Gnach and Dr Monika Olejniczak are renowned, focuses on the function and aesthetics of the teeth. We do not use orthodontic techniques that include tooth extraction in the treatment plan, in almost every case (removal of premolar teeth in the mandible and maxilla, the so-called upper and lower quadrants). Such extractions in a patient with a regular profile always lead to a flattening and collapsing of the central part of the face, a drooping of the cheeks and "black corridors" in the smile (so-called narrow smile), which consequently causes an unfavourable appearance of the face in a full smile and accelerates the ageing process of the facial features. Even with the greatest crowding, Unident Union dentists expand the dental arches with the help of self-ligating systems and special orthodontic techniques. We achieve a perfect smile through natural alveolar expansion, in which the teeth align into harmonious arches without the need for extraction. Expansion of the dental arches and harmonious alignment of the teeth is our way of improving your appearance naturally and permanently without a scalpel. This is why non-extraction orthodontics is one of the pillars of the proprietary Dental Face Lifting® therapy.
