The process of fitting all-ceramic porcelain crowns

The fitting of all-ceramic crowns is one of the key stages of comprehensive prosthetic treatment. In the clinic Unident Union® in Wrocław each We treat the case individually - planning the restoration based on facial aesthetics, bite function and the needs of the patient. Thanks to digital technology, cooperation with foreign laboratories and the experience of our experts, the process is comfortable, precise and predictable. 
 
Below you will find a detailed step-by-step description of the process of fitting porcelain crowns. 
 
Step 1: Consultation and case study 
 
We begin each porcelain crown treatment with: 

• digital diagnostics (photos, 3D scans, bite analysis),
• aesthetic analysis of the face and smile, 
  
• discuss patient expectations: colour, length, function, comfort, 
  
• qualification for the type of crown (on tooth, on implant, combination). 
   

At this stage, we plan the scope of treatment and the type of material: E.max, zirconium. 
 
Step 2: Smile design - wax-up 
 
After the analysis, we prepare wax-up, the precise wax design of future crowns. 
Wax-up is created in the laboratory from scans and serves as: 

• short-circuit height model, 
  
• pattern of tooth shape and length, 
  
• a reference point for further steps (mock-up, making crowns). 
   
  

It is here that we often also plan for occlusal reconstruction and comprehensive prosthetic rehabilitation. 
 
Step 3: Mock-up - visualisation in the mouth 
 
Based on wax-upu we prepare mock-up - That is, a temporary, visual model of the new smile that the patient can: 

• see in the mirror, 
  
• assess its length, width, proportions, 
  
• test while speaking and smiling, 
  
• suggest changes - e.g. subtle length adjustments. 
   
  

Thanks to mock-ups the treatment is fully predictable and the patient knows from the start what it will look like final effect. 
 
Step 4: Preparation of teeth for crowns 
 
The next stage is the preparation of the teeth, i.e. grinding them into the shape required for the fitting of crowns. 
 
W Unident Union® preparation takes place: 

• minimally invasive - within the limits of the enamel or superficial dentin, 
  
• using magnifying glasses and optical magnification, 
  
• always under full anaesthesia - without pain, 
  
• taking into account the planned occlusal reconstruction and function. 
   
  

In the case of implants - a prosthetic abutment is prepared and the adjacent teeth remain intact. 
 
Step 5: Scanning and communication with the laboratory 
 
Once the preparation is complete, we take a digital scan of the mouth - instead of a classic impression. Scan: 

• goes to a laboratory in Poland or to selected laboratories in Dubai or Brazil, 
  
• contains a precise model of the teeth, colour, occlusal conditions and design mock-up, 
  
• makes it possible to start work on the final crowns even within a few hours. 
   
  

Communication with the laboratories is done digitally - in real time. 
 
Step 6: Temporary crowns 
 
During the waiting period, the patient is provided with temporary crowns (temporaries) which: 

• protect the ground teeth, 
  
• allow you to function comfortably, 
  
• allow aesthetics and occlusion to be tested, 
  
• are aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and stable. 
   
  

Thanks to them, the patient never leaves the practice "without teeth". 
 
Step 7: Fitting and cementing of porcelain crowns 
 
After the final crowns are made, a fitting takes place: 

• Aesthetics, colour, translucency, fit to the gum line are checked, 
  
• bite contacts and relationships are controlled interdental, 
  
• The patient has the last word - this is the moment for possible adjustments. 
   
  

If all goes well, the crowns are permanently cemented in place - using modern adhesive systems, under cofferdam control.
