Flow injection
Flow Injection - a modern composite bonding method
At Unident Union® We use only the most advanced and precise tooth reconstruction techniques, which allow for minimally invasive smile modelling. One of these is the Flow Injection method, a state-of-the-art composite bonding technique using a precise layered application of material based on the patient's digital tooth design.
What is the Flow Injection method?
Flow Injection is a highly predictable method for the aesthetic restoration of teeth using a flowable composite that is precisely applied to the enamel surface using a specially designed silicone matrix. Unlike classic bonding, which requires manual modelling of the material, Flow Injection is based on the digital design of the new smile and reproduces the ideal shape of the teeth with maximum accuracy.
This method achieves a natural, harmonious smile and, thanks to digital planning, ensures high precision and predictability of results.
How is Flow Injection designed?
The basis of this technique is the digital analysis of the patient's smile and the precise reproduction of ideal tooth shapes based on a customised library of natural teeth. The process involves several key stages:
- Digital design of a new smile
On the basis of an intraoral scan (taken with a 3D scanner), we analyse the shape, proportions and aesthetics of the Patient's smile. We then select the most appropriate form of the future teeth from a library of natural teeth - this is a database of anatomical shapes that can be individually adapted to the person.
- Digital wax-up - virtual design of a new smile
In the next step, we prepare a digital wax-up, which is a computer simulation of the future shape of the teeth. This state-of-the-art approach allows full control over the proportions, aesthetics and harmony of the smile. If necessary, the digital wax-up can be 3D printed, allowing it to be tested in the patient's mouth.
- Mock-up - testing a new smile in the patient's mouth
With the digital wax-up, we can perform a mock-up, i.e. a temporary application of the new tooth shape onto the Patient's natural enamel. This is an extremely important step that allows the Patient to assess the appearance before the final composite application.
Who is the Flow Injection method for?
The Flow Injection method will work well for patients who:
- They have worn down, short or uneven teeth that require shape restoration.
- They want to improve the aesthetics of their smile without invasive enamel grinding.
- They expect very natural results - the new smile does not look artificial because it is based on the anatomical shapes of the natural teeth.
- They need a predictable and durable restorative method without the need for porcelain veneers.
How does the flow injection procedure work?
- Step 1: Digital tooth scanning - We take a 3D scan of the mouth, analyse the proportions and design a new smile.
- Step 2: Digital wax-up and mock-up - Based on the scan, we design a new tooth shape in the form of a digital wax-up. If there is a need to test it in the mouth, we prepare a physical version by 3D printing, which allows the patient to see the future effect before the composite is applied.
- Step 3: Preparation of the silicone matrix - On the basis of the approved design, we make a special silicone matrix that precisely reproduces the planned tooth shape.
- Step 4: Application of the flowable composite (Flow Injection) - Using a matrix, we apply the liquid composite in a precise layer, achieving an accurate and lasting aesthetic result without the need for manual modelling.
- Step 5: Polymerisation and surface finish - Once the composite has cured, the teeth are polished to a natural shine, making the new smile look fresh and harmonious.
What are the advantages of Flow Injection?
- Maximum precision - thanks to digital design, the effect is perfectly tailored to the patient.
- No need to grind teeth - a minimally invasive, enamel-saving method.
- Very natural effect - the final appearance is based on the anatomical shapes of the natural teeth.
- Predictability of results - the patient sees the final result even before the composite is applied.
- Durability - well done Flow Injection bonding can last up to 5-7 years.
Does Flow Injection offer a guarantee of sustainability?
Yes, but the longevity of the effect depends on several factors:
- Proper oral hygiene and regular check-ups.
- Avoiding habits such as teeth grinding (bruxism) - an overnight splint is recommended if necessary.
- Correct execution technique - at Unident Union® We use only the highest quality materials and technologies to provide patients with maximum aesthetics and a long-lasting result.
Summary
Flow Injection is a precision bonding method that is based on digital design and silicone matrices, providing perfect aesthetics and durability. With this technology, patients can enjoy a natural smile without invasive enamel grinding.
